“I had a hugely positive experience being tutored by Rodrigo on various occasions. He helped me to achieve an A* in my Spanish A-Level. After our lessons, I decided to pursue Spanish as part of my undergraduate degree at University College London. I am still in contact with Rodrigo, who is always happy to help me with any uncertainties or questions I have on the subject” – S, London (2018)
The Importance of Being Educated
It is a truth universally acknowledged that education, both good and bad, shapes every aspect of our lives. A good education is invaluable; a great education is priceless; but nothing is more expensive than ignorance. I myself remain committed to educating myself at every possible opportunity, whether through university courses, online programmes, internships or by other means. I am a tutor, a teacher, a mentor, a governor, a guardian, but also a student. For this reason, Learning by Teaching is at the core of my teaching ethos.
From studying in the British independent school system to working in the Spanish, Russian and Chinese education systems, my unique strength in tutoring, which comes from this vast international exposure and working with a wide array of clients, from those in the East end of London to the residents of Cap Ferrat, is adaptability. All my tutees learn to be adaptable, believe in themselves, be confident, disciplined, empathetic, friendly, generous, humble, introspective… for a full list, please contact us for a Brochure!

“When we first invited Rodrigo to work with us in 2016, my daughter was reluctant to read; by the time he returned in 2018 she had become an avid reader. He introduced new learning methods into her Science and English work and helped her transition into her new school in the UK. My daughter started to become a confident young woman – Rodrigo even created an amazing project with her on Feminism and the Modern Woman!” - O, Moscow (2018)

Your Right First Tutor
The role of a private tutor extends far beyond the traditional teacher requirements and complements traditional in-school education methods. As your Right First Tutor, my job is to help you through your own learning objectives, right first time. Tuition takes place by means of regular one-to-one classes and long-term residential assignments, whereby tuition takes place over a period of 7 days to 11 months at a client’s residence in the UK, EU or further afield.
On residential placements, the role of the tutor usually extends beyond the merely academic and includes extracurricular support and activities, as well as holiday tuition. The tutor, being in a position of great trust, usually becomes a companion or mentor to their tutee, a person to whom the tutee can turn for personal and life advice and support. The best tutors are adaptable, highly approachable, enthusiastic and empathetic towards all their tutees.
Over the past five years most of my assignments have been mid-term residential placements, from four days spent on the Amalfi coast to three months in the middle of Ukraine. I have taken on many different roles as a tutor: from offering traditional EFL and Spanish classes to students in Europe and East Asia, or working as a full-time governor to a 4-year old boy in Ukraine, to helping tutees pass entrance exams into leading private schools, including Harrow and Wellington; from providing four months of intensive home-schooling for a tutee with Dyslexia in London and Ukraine, or helping a client be accepted onto a Master’s in Economics and Business Management at Imperial College London, or providing UCAS support for a student wanting to attend Edinburgh University, to spending a Summer travelling around Europe with one client’s family tutoring her at each of the family’s holiday destinations – the job requires huge flexibility, dedication to each tutee, adaptability to not so unusual requests such as teaching English in a car to a tutee’s driver!
